DONATING
YOUR BLOOD
STARTS WITH A
FEW QUESTIONS

WHO CAN DONATE?

Anyone in good health who is at least 18 years old and weighs more than 50 kg can donate blood, plasma or platelets. However, it is possible that contraindications postpone the moment when it is possible to give. It is a health professional from the Blood Transfusion Center who will confirm to you, after a medical interview, that you can donate on the day of your visit.

In short, to give, you have to ...

… be at least 18 years old

… weigh at least 50 kg

… to be in a good health

… have about an hour to spare

… wish to help those who suffer

… overcome your fear of needles (actually, it doesn't hurt)

CONTRAINDICATIONS TO DONATION

Blood donation is a generous and altruistic act. The Blood Transfusion Center team takes particular care to ensure that this procedure is safe, both for the donor and the recipient. This is the reason why in a certain number of cases, it may be that a contraindication obliges you to postpone your blood donation.
