WHO CAN DONATE?

Anyone in good health who is at least 18 years old and weighs more than 50 kg can donate blood. However, contraindications may delay the moment you can donate. The first donation is to be made before the age of 60, and the last is to be made at the age of 65… It remains possible, after an interview with a Blood Transfusion Center doctor to obtain an exemption.

WHY DONATE?

Donating blood means donating red blood cells, platelets and plasma to help the sick and injured!

Donating blood saves lives. In Luxembourg, approximately 100 blood bags must be collected every weekday to meet the needs of the country’s hospitals. We or our loved ones can all, one day, need a blood transfusion.

From Monday to Friday, you can give your blood in Luxembourg-city, on Monday and Tuesday in Esch-Belval, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in an external collection.
